Church People

One day while in route to my moms house I met a young man who shared an interesting story about his cousin.

She met a man (the wrong one) she fell in love with him;  she followed him to another town.  The love of her life, so she thought, delivered her into a life of prostitution.  Devastated, heart broken and embarrassed she returned home.

Life seemingly hopeless in her eyes she went to church searching for redemption and forgiveness from God.  She came dressed in the attire of the profession she desperately wanted to be delivered from.

Coming to Jesus just as we are means coming to Jesus in our present inner condition, and if this is all she had to wear who are we to judge.

After church the young woman was fellow shipping and was high on the Spirit of God when a group of women gathered not to welcome her but to talk about her attire.  They approached her and told her, "who do you think you are coming here dressed like that.  Don't ever come back here looking like that again."

Hurt and distraught the woman continued to smile and praise God.  Finally she left never returning to the church again.  She returned to a life of prostitution.

These group of women looked at the outer appearance of this woman not discerning she possessed a contrite and wounded spirit.  There was a time Satan stood outside the church and prevented people from going in; now Satan is in the church running people out.  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  An no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Cor 11: 13-15, Key Bible KJV)

This does not mean God does not exist in that church for we are the temple in which the  Holy Spirit dwells.  It means the Holy Spirit was absent from these women.  If there was one among them that compromised the truth that one is guilty as the others.

It was a missed opportunity to plant the seed of salvation while another waters, and God gets the increase.

Let us be truthful for a moment.  There is far too much foolishness in God's house.  Is that because there is far too much foolishness in the lives of individuals.  People do in God's house what they wouldn't allow in their own house.

The young woman had no reason to ask anyone in the church for forgiveness except to ask of the Lord.  Who are we to deny any individual the opportunity to be saved.  If anyone has a heaven or hell to place someone in then that individual belong in their own kingdom, furthermore, they would be sitting at the right hand of God instead of Jesus.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3: 16)

Christ died for the sins of the young woman, the women in the church, the righteous and the unrighteous.
