The Strait Gate
The Strait Gate is a narrow entrance. Consider the words of Jesus in Luke 13: 22-24.
Verse 22: And he went through the cities and village, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
Verse 23: Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Verse 24: Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
The path to the kingdom is a narrow one. Following any other path than Jesus, one will not be able to enter.
The gospel is the good news. What is the good news? The kingdom! Is the good news Where is the king’s domain? Follow the path.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and these things shall be added unto you.
When we lean on our own understanding, Jesus is not first. It is nothing wrong with having; however, those things gained will not fit through the narrow gate.
