Hell Is Real

Ever notice most sermons celebrate heaven; those in attendance get high on the thoughts of walking on streets paved with gold?

Peter speaks about heaven is worth suffering for. (1 Peter 1: 3-12) Quite the contrast of suffering in hell.
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1: 8)

It does not matter how good you are.  It does not matter how long your name has been on the church roll.  It does not matter how well you pray.  What matters is obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In many churches hell is not taught.  Why this occurs is a shameful distrust being perpetrated and the masses that follow this doctrine become aliens to Christ.  Some think they will see old friends and there will be one big everlasting party; not according to scripture.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Rev 21:8) If this sounds like a party then you are headed to the right place.

Jesus said, "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." (Matthew 25:46)  Everlasting is everlasting.  There is no end and there is certainly not a party as one may be accustom to.

Ask yourself this question.  Do I want to be in a place where: And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Revelation 20: 10)  Those that keep company with the enemy get to keep company with him in hell, however, it will not be the same in the underworld.

Be careful when you tell someone go to hell, because you may be on the way there yourself.

  1. A vital warning. I agree with the reality of hell fire, though I must opine that everlasting life is exclusively for the elect. There is no everlasting life in hell, but "everlasting punishment." This is clearly spelt out: "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of GOD is eternal life through Jesus Christ." Also, notice that the Lake of Fire is called "the Second Death."
