We Are Soldiers
The day I entered into the military I took an oath. Upon arrival to where I began basic training there came a Drill Sargent baking out commands; you no longer belong to yourselves. You are now belong to me. I will be your mother, father, brother, sister, and you lover for the duration of your training.
This Drill Instructor's job is to teach new inductees how to be soldiers in man's Army. These instructions were life and death and if you did not live up to the standards set forth to qualify you as a solider, you were discharged dishonorably.
Consider Jesus' words. If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. (Matthew 16: 24)
Jesus further stated. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14: 33)
The day I entered man's army I forsook all to be a solider. In God's army there is no difference. Just like in man's army you are given clothing that represents the military. In God's army we are given the Christian Armor (Eph 6). In man's army soldiers are trained to use weapons of war. In God's army a soldier is trained to use weapons of war, however the enemy is of the spiritual realm.
If you do not obey in man's army you are court martial, sometimes incarcerated, or the worse you are discharged not fit for lifestyle.
Prior to joining God's army many of us have been a prisoner of some type or another and cast out, hopelessly looking to be accepted. Jesus allows us to be part of His army if we ask to join. We receive the necessary training to fight a spiritual warfare and if we do not live up to our potential, hell awaits eagerly to accept us for eternity.
Therefore when you enlist in God's army there is a greater reward for being a faithful servant. Those who come to be served will be discharged to hell.
