The Power of The Gospel

What is the power of the gospel? there are many who boldly state the gospel is the good news; then what is the good news? many would say the good news is the gospel.  The good news is the kingdom, yet, somehow the "kingdom" is not mentioned.

The power of the gospel is God's power in the name of Jesus Christ who died and rose.  He now sits at the right hand of God in "Heaven" until his second coming, when we will all not only see him, but every knee shall kneel and every tongue shall confess Jesus is Lord. (Phil 2:10)

Throughout The Acts Paul and others Christians are persecuted for Christ's name.  In modern time Christians are yet persecuted for Christ.  Jesus himself was persecuted.

Therefore for 3,000 years or more Christians are persecuted, tortured and killed in the name of Jesus.  There is yet people in the world who have not heard the gospel.  There are remote areas where idol worshippers are held captive by witchcraft and they are coming to Jesus after receiving the "good news."

Christians are obligated to spread the good news; not among themselves, but to those who are unenlightened.  Consider the Samaritan woman of John 4.  When Jesus revealed himself to her in power, she ran telling all come and see the one who told me all things.  The villagers came and Jesus ministered unto them and believed.

The Samaritans said the Jews had nothing to do with them.  They would miles out of there way before they would pass through Samaria, yet there in the mist stood Jesus.  Can anyone think of anyone Jesus didn't die for.

Boldness to know and stand on the "Rock" the day is coming when we will see Jesus and be with him is the power of the gospel.
