Ananias and Sapphira

Do you know the story of Ananias and Sapphira? They are husband and wife who lied to the Holy Spirit and God killed them.  That's right God killed them. They were bad examples of sharing. Christians were selling their belongings and bringing them to the Apostles.  The Apostles would give to everyone according to their needs.  Ananias and Sapphira sold their land but kept part of the profits for themselves.  There is nothing wrong with this because they had the right to do whatever they desired because they are the owners.  The problem was that when they gave the portion, they gave as if they gave all.  Attempting to deceive the Holy Spirit caused their death.  God will not be mocked.  (Acts 5: 1-11) God requires a tenth in tithes.  How often have we given a portion of the tenth for whatever reason? Do you not consider that lying to God? Do you not consider this disobedience.  "Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me.  But ye s...

FYI

Many are confessing how tired they are of one thing or another. People, places, and things only give you temporary joy. The time comes when you grow tired, and sleep does not cure your restlessness. No, don't check your sugar, check your spirit. Don't take a pill, come into the will of God .

The Door

A door is an entrance to or an exit from.  Consider Jesus as the door.  Enter and find rest:  "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11: 28, Key Bible KJV) Exit the door is outside the will of God. There the world awaits to devour you and spew you out as a vile testimony. What hinders you from entering into rest?  Jesus is inviting you to come in and have rest.  This rest is for those who labor in the vineyard, those who suffer spiritual anxiety. Have you grown tired of people, places, and things outside of the will of God? Jesus invites you take His yoke and learn of him and have everlasting rest. Consider this, which would you prefer; resting in Jesus or perish with the world?

Earthly Reward or Godly Reward

"From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes." (Psalm 17: 14, Key Bible, KJV) The ways of this world are wicked and the wicked men who store up wealth for their children they have their reward here on earth. God stills the hunger of those he cherish.  Yet an innocent man will wait to receive his reward which is in heaven for the earthly rewards shall pass away. In this life the locust will reap and what he sows for another man shall consume his earthly wealth. "As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied when I awake, with thy likeness." (Psalm 17:15, Key Bible, KJV) For God's people their reward is enjoying the presence of God.  Scripture tells us the sun and moon will cease to give light because God's glory will be the light.  Can you...

King Jehoshaphat

There came a time in our lives when we received dreadful news that launched us into such fear it knotted our stomachs.  Forces came upon us in such a way we knew defeat is a certainty.  King Jehoshaphat was confronted with dreadful news.  "Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying.  There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon-tamar, which is Engedi.  And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah." (2 Chron 20: 2,3) The king feared, he sought the Lord, and proclaimed a fast.  Often we fear, run, and try to fight the battle ourselves.  Usually once one becomes accustom to losing they will immediately give up when faced with what seems to be a losing cause. King Jehoshaphat knew the battle is Gods and with such an immovable faith, God's people didn't have to fight, God took care of their enemies.  When w...

Breaking Faith With God

How often have me made promises to God only to break that promise as soon as its made.  Ironically many of us have experienced this at one time or another, however, we reach a state of gratification and forget what brought on our troubles until it happens again. Consider Achan's sin in Joshua 7: 1.  " But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing:  and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel." (Key Bible, KJV) Joshua suffered defeat at Ai because of disobedience.  When we break faith with God there are consequences, just as Israel learned.  Achan's attempt to hide his sin from God resulted in the death of himself and his entire family. It seems cruel that a the God of love would do this thing to one of own.  Not cruel at all.  Each time we take charge of our lives the result...

One Day

On the morning I woke the sun shined brightly.  I thought what a beautiful day.  On the night the full moon shine brightly and its beautiful. Everything that God creates is beautiful and the greatest beauty he created, is, YOU!!

Premeditated Sin

In today's world, in our communities, families and social media life we can see and hear much about what is happening in a person's life.  There are photos posted of self and family activities.  There are posted announcements of various functions that are interesting to a diverse group of individuals.  The fallacies captured in some of these social media scenes are acted out in real life, therefore, watching reality television is becoming a thing of the past, because one can interact with the social media. Jesus said "Be wise as a serpent and harmless as doves," however, in this dying world the serpent struck the dove with intent on killing the spirit.  Often humankind give Satan to much credit for what he had nothing to do with.  Each time something goes wrong in our lives Satan is blamed.  When something is going great credit is given to self.  God is called when things are so bad we reach out to him to deliver us, only to return to the same mess...
