When Evening Comes
Jesus completed feeding the five thousand; And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. (Mark 6: 45) This was quiet a task for one individual when viewed through natural eyes; but when viewed through spiritual eyes one can see the power of God not only in the feeding of the five thousand but the spiritual equipping (preparation) of individuals. And when he had sent them away he departed into a mountain to pray. (Mark 6: 46) Jesus slipped away to commune with His father (our Father). The people wanted to take Jesus by force and make him their king. They were suffering at the hands of the Romans and their new Task Masters, the appointed not anointed priest, the Pharisees and their own unbelief.
