When Evening Comes

Jesus completed feeding the five thousand; And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. (Mark 6: 45) This was quiet a task for one individual when viewed through natural eyes; but when viewed through spiritual eyes one can see the power of God not only in the feeding of the five thousand but the spiritual equipping (preparation) of individuals. And when he had sent them away he departed into a mountain to pray. (Mark 6: 46) Jesus slipped away to commune with His father (our Father).  The people wanted to take Jesus by force and make him their king.  They were suffering at the hands of the Romans and their new Task Masters, the appointed not anointed priest, the Pharisees and their own unbelief. An when even ( evening) was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. (Mark 6: 47) There stood Jesus (The Light of The World) as darkness appr...

Weakness

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. (2 Cor 7,8, Key Bible, KJV) Human weakness provides the ideal opportunity for the display of divine power.  The precise nature of this affliction is unknown, however in Romans 7:23 Paul identifies another law in his members warring against the law of his mind, and bringing him into captivity to the law of sin which is in his members. Paul states he sought the Lord three ...

Defining Moments

Our Christian lifestyle defines who we are in Christ.  We who have accepted Jesus as Lord of our lives defines the moment we became separated from a life in darkness.  Perhaps at one point in our lives we were not associated with what a surrendered life is not.  A surrendered life is not giving up its' giving in to Christ taking complete charge of our lives.  When God led Moses and the Israelites out of bondage to crossing a divided Red Sea on dry ground was a defining moment in their lives. They did not know before hand how God was going to save them from Pharaoh's charging Army; yet when Moses stretch forth his arms with his staff in hand the power of God manifested in the parting of the Sea and they cross over on dry land safe and secure. When we are faced with uncontrollable circumstances in our lives do we fall in the sea of despair or do we call on God and trust he will make a way when there seems no way just as the Israelites had a defining moment in th...
